And who still sticks to the Mac Pro 5,1 untill eternity. It's such a hard descision that i truly don't know what to do! Who has made this step and regrets it or is happy with that choice. This feels like a huge step backwards eventhough i can move forward with the latest OSses and faster thunderbolt speed. My desk now looks clean apart from a small USB keyboard. And I need to unplug everything if i take my Macbook elsewhere. And i will need to plug monitor cables, power cable and an USB-hub (to all other cables that are now tucked underneath my desk) into my MacBook Pro on my desk. I have a MacBook Pro (2015) that i can use instead but i will need a harddrive bay that sits on my desk. And i halppily use iTunes a lot (for DJ use) which will be Apple Music if i move on to a newer OS. I only use my Mac Pro for making music with a DAW on a wide screen monitor (So an iMac is no option) apart from internet stuff and some occasional Photoshop work. But it's 12 years old and keeps getting older untill one day it might become a dinosaur. I am verry happy with the Mac Pro on High Sierra and technically i don't need anything else. On the other hand i think it won't hurt to look at some alternatives. This same hardware design is shared by quite a few different 13-inch MacBook Pro models. Perhaps one even with a bit more power like a 12 core instead of a 6-core i had. Reported on twitter but no response from AppleSupport over there. This could be because of a slow internet connection. Bought MacBook Air in mid 2015 and it abruptly shut down few weeks back.
